Port of Redwood City celebrates Maritime Month

We are thrilled to join other ports in celebrating Maritime Month across our nation. This is a special time for ports as it is an opportunity to reflect on our history and look forward to our future. In 1933, Congress established National Maritime Day, which is celebrated annually on May 22. This year marks the 52nd observance of Maritime Day by the Maritime Administration and the 89th since Congress established the national holiday. The United States Maritime Administration designated this year’s theme as “Culture, Climate, and Commitment: The Future of the Merchant Marine.”

Tune in to the Department of Transportation Maritime Administration as they celebrate National Maritime Day in a ceremony on May 24 at 10 a.m. ET. To learn more, visit their website.
