House Passes Massive China Competition Legislation with International Climate Focus and Education Priorities Included

Earlier today, the House of Representatives passed the America Competes Act (H.R. 4521), a bill that seeks to increase the nation’s competitiveness with China, advance U.S. semiconductor manufacturing capacity, which are essential components in technology products, high tech, and basic research needs. In addition to these core areas, H.R. 4521 addresses trade assistance programs, international climate funding needs through the Department of Energy and increasing the federal commitment to support educational programs targeting science and engineering.  The bill must now be reconciled with the Senate-passed version, the U.S. Innovations and Competition Act (S. 1260).  (Read More)
