Members Reception with Mayor Libby Schaaf
Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf joined Bay Planning Coalition members on May 23rd to share her vision of revitalizing the Oakland waterfront, increasing housing affordability, and promoting transit opportunities to new areas of development. During the reception, Mayor Schaaf promoted the importance of regional collaboration to successfully protect and utilize the Bay, our most treasured natural asset. Mayor Schaaf candidly answered questions related to ongoing restoration projects, the “slushy” challenges related to groundwater, and her efforts to mitigate the barriers to development. BPC applauds Mayor Schaaf for her leadership in making the Bay Area one of the most sustainable regions in the world. Special thanks for ESA for hosting.
