Fiscal Year 2017/18 Call for Projects

The San Francisco County Transportation Authority is pleased to announce a call for projects for $724,466 in TFCA County Program Manager Fund programming for the Fiscal Year 2017/18 cycle. Please visit our website at www.sfcta.org/tfcacallforprojects for more information.  Applications are due to the Transportation Authority by 5pm on April 28, 2017.

TFCA was established to fund the most effective transportation projects that achieve emission reductions from motor vehicles. Funds are generated from a $4 surcharge on the vehicle registration fee. Forty percent of the funds are set aside for Program Managers for each of the nine counties in the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District). The Transportation Authority is the designated Program Manager for the City and County of San Francisco.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Public agencies are eligible to apply for all project categories. Non-public entities may only be awarded TFCA grants for certain clean air vehicle projects (new alternative fuel vehicle and infrastructure projects) that reduce mobile source emissions.
WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS CAN BE FUNDED?
Consistent with the legislation governing the TFCA program, and the Air District’s adopted policies for the Fiscal Year 2017/18 TFCA County Program Manager fund, we will accept applications for the types of projects listed below:
  • Bicycle Projects
  • Smart Growth/Traffic Calming
  • Ridesharing Programs
  • Bike Share
  • Shuttle/Feeder Bus Service
  • Arterial Management
  • Alternative Fuel Light-Duty Vehicles
  • Alternative Fuel Heavy-Duty Vehicles
  • Alternative Fuel Buses
  • Alternative Fuel Infrastructure

Thursday, March 23, 2017, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m.: TFCA Call for Projects Workshop at Transportation Authority’s Offices, 1455 Market Street, Floor 22
Friday, April 28, 2017, 5 p.m. TFCA Applications due to the Transportation Authority
Thursday, May 18, 2017: Technical Working Group Meeting reviews TFCA staff recommendations
Wednesday, May 24, 2017: Citizens Advisory Committee acts on TFCA staff recommendations
Tuesday, June 13, 2017: Transportation Authority Board takes preliminary actions on TFCA staff recommendations
Tuesday, June 27, 2017: Transportation Authority Board adopts TFCA program of projects
Aug-Sept 2017 (estimated): Funds expected to be available to project sponsors
