The Port of Oakland is convening a Task Force as part of their effort to update their Maritime Air Quality Improvement Plan (MAQIP), a comprehensive plan designed to reduce port emissions and mitigate impacts on local air quality, to include new long-term goals through the year 2030. The Task Force, which consists of regional experts and stakeholders, including BPC, will meet several times in 2018. BPC also participated in the original MAQIP Task Force about 10 years ago, and is proud to be involved once again. BPC recognizes the successes of the Port in reducing seaport emissions thus far, and we look forward to helping the Port improve local air quality even further.
