From Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA):
The California Department of Water Resources is providing up to $2,000 in funding assistance to local water agencies to offer outdoor water use workshops for their customers.
Qualifying agencies can receive up to $2,000 to host one or more workshops between June 2015 and October 2015 related to outdoor water conservation and efficiency. The funding is being provided through the California Urban Water Conservation Council. Agencies do not have to be a member of the council to apply for funding.
Sponsorship Criteria
To be eligible to receive up to a $2,000 sponsorship, water service providers must:
* Participate in an informational webinar/conference call on June 11 (see details below) or indicate interest through a separate email if unable to attend the webinar/conference call;
* Submit a short application form, to be distributed after the informational webinar/conference call;
* Advertise and host a workshop for residential or CII customers between June 2015 and October 2015 related to outdoor water conservation and efficiency;
* Submit a workshop summary and evaluation through a provided form; and
* Document and submit workshop cost information to be reimbursed up to $2,000.
Workshop Content
Workshops must be intended for the general public. They must focus on any aspect(s) of water use for ornamental landscaping. Subjects could include one or more of the following topics: improving irrigation efficiency; turf removal and sheet mulching; climate appropriate water-efficient plant and landscaping materials; rainwater capture; deficit irrigation; tree watering; or similar topics.

If you are interested in applying for a sponsorship, please register for the conference call and webinar below. The conference call and webinar will discuss sponsorship requirements, next steps, the selection process, and reporting requirements. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.
If you cannot participate in the June 11 webinar, please send an email of interest to briana@cuwcc.org to be considered for sponsorship. Note, the webinar will be capped at 100 participants, but there is no limit to conference call attendees and all important information will be conveyed over the call.

Next Steps
Following the webinar/conference call, a web-based form will be distributed to interested parties to apply for sponsorships, and the council will follow up with selected applicants.
Please note that funding for these sponsorships is limited. Application for a sponsorship is not a guarantee that you will receive an award.
The California Urban Water Conservation Council has a list of potential partners capable of helping design and deliver outdoor water use workshops here. The council and DWR do not specifically endorse any organization or program listed, and utilities do not need to involve an external partner to be eligible for sponsorship.
