President Announces Build America Investment Initiative
The initiative seeks to increase infrastructure investment and economic growth for highways, roads and bridges, municipal water, ports, harbors, broadband, and the electrical grid. The initiative will include the creation of a Build America Transportation Investment Center (housed in the USDOT) to provide state and local governments with improved access to private-sector funding for roads and bridges. The effort will also create an interagency working group and hold an infrastructure summit this September.
