The House approved a bipartisan amendment to the fiscal 2015 energy and water spending bill this afternoon striking more than $73 million from the Energy Department’s nuclear energy office.
Lawmakers, 281-137, approved the amendment offered by California Democrat Janice Hahn and Michigan Republican Bill Huizenga. Cuts to the nuclear energy office were made to offset a $57.6 million boost in spending for the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund.
