Senate Republicans will try today to begin action on a $9 billion bill for water navigation and clean water projects but face likely objections from the Democratic leadership.
The two-year Water Resources Development Act, S. 2848, would provide $100 million for changing out lead water pipes in Flint, Mich., would open the way for more local government involvement in water navigation projects and would authorize restoration projects in the Everglades, the Great Lakes and other areas.
