Our estuary … in the News
You may have noticed that the San Francisco Bay Estuary (and Delta)
has been in the news A LOT lately with the release of two ground-breaking reports and the 12th biennial State of the San Francisco Estuary Conferenceon September 17-18.  If you think you missed some of it, check out our news section in the lower left column on the SFBJV homepage. The Pulse of the Bay summarizes the state of SF Bay water quality based on a 23-year Regional Monitoring Program and examines whether the Estuary waters are clean enough to be safe for fishing and swimming as well as provide healthy habitat for aquatic life.

The 2015 State of the Estuary Report,an update to the 2011 report, compiles findings from 30 Bay and Delta scientists and presents a summary of the current status and trends for 28 indicators of health for the San Francisco Bay Delta estuary.

Stay tuned for a third report, the Baylands Ecosystem Habitat Goals Update, due to be released in mid October, and offering a vision for the future of the Bay with recommended bold new actions to restore and protect our shorelines.
