Endangered species return to restored salt pond

— Two endangered species of animals — Clapper Rail and Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse — have returned to a nearly lifeless former salt pond in the southern San Francisco Bay, the first proof that the ambitious 30-year South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project is helping nature heal.
