Farm to Fleet Program Initiative

Washington DC, January 30, 2013 hosted by the U.S. Dept. of Navy and the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture

The United States Department of Navy (DON) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are hosting an industry day to discuss their Farm to Fleet program and are inviting members of the advanced drop-in biofuels industry to attend.  The purpose of the industry day is for the federal government to present details on the Farm to Fleet program.  The Farm to Fleet program partners USDA and DON to incorporate acquisition of biofuel blends into the regular domestic solicitations for JP-5 and F-76 fuels in order to begin the use of biofuel blends as a part of regular, operational fuel purchase and use.  Funds from the USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) are available to assist the effort.  Information regarding the use of CCC funds, the general structure of JP-5 and F-76 fuel solicitations (which are managed by Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) – Energy), and the biofuel blends that can be used by the DON will be detailed.  Questions from industry as well as feedback are welcome.  Federal government representatives from USDA and DON will be present to engage in discussions about Farm to Fleet.
