Chevron Richmond Invests $15.5 Million to Help Improve Local Economy and Schools

Earlier this month, Chevron Richmond announced a $15.5 million investment to create jobs, grow small businesses, expand job training opportunities and improve schools here in Richmond. It is all part of the Community Revitalization Initiative, our largest investment in a U.S. city. Over the next five years, this initiative will create economic opportunities for those in our community that need it the most. It will also help our schools improve test scores and prepare students to be college and career ready.

Employees Give Back

Chevron Richmond employees roll up their sleeves every September and participate in our annual Volunteer Week. This year, 454 Chevron volunteers worked on 45 projects in the community, organized in coordination with the United Way’s Week of Caring.

Making a Difference in this Community

Chevron is committed to improving the quality of life in Richmond  and West County by supporting opportunities for youth, education and economic development.

Community Corner: Back-to-School Picnic

Every September, the Bay Area Rescue Mission (BARM) partners with Chevron Richmond to host an annual Back-to-School Block Party. Now in its 13th year, the Sept. 19 event at Nevin Center Park was the best we’ve ever had. Thanks to Chevron, 1,000 children received needed backpacks full of school supplies. BARM’s culinary arts program manager prepared food for the crowds. Check out this month’s Richmond Today’s Community Corner for a tasty broccoli salad recipe.
