Please join us for our next Government Affairs Committee meeting as we host special guest Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) on Tuesday, July 16th from 2:00-3:00PM at Sheppard Mullin LLP (Four Embarcadero Center, 17th Floor, San Francisco). Sen. Wiener will brief us on his bill SB 69 (The Ocean Resiliency Act of 2019), which aims to improve the health of California’s ocean ecosystem and coastal communities. SB 69 seeks to improve water quality by reducing land-based sources of pollutants that acidify oceans; restore ocean habitats that sequester greenhouse gas emissions; and protect keystone species to maintain biodiversity.
Since being elected in November 2016, Sen. Wiener has been a leader in working to make housing more affordable, invest in our transportation systems, and meaningfully address climate change. He serves as Chair of the Senate Housing Committee, where he is working to tackle California’s severe housing crisis.
