Two Deadlines coming up for
Submitting Comments on
Draft Guidelines for Prop 1 Funding

Now is the time to get your comments in on the draft guidelines proposed by the Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Wildlife Conservation Board for bond monies from Prop 1 funding.  The deadlines are:

April 9, for the Department of Fish & Widlife –
the announcement and a link to guidelines

 April 24 for the Wildlife Conservation Board –

This time we take you to Redwood City where again it took a group of caring citizens to step up and insure this land was not developed, then turn it over to our state and federal agencies for protection and ultimately a restoration that is almost complete!  Learn more by visiting our website.

We are looking for our next intern!
We are nearing completion of the transition of our JV Project Tracking System and need help researching, entering and updating information on wetland and creek projects within the SF Bay region.  This is a part-time paid position and

GRANTS with deadlines bhuning sandpipers

By April 15

California Landscape Conservation Cooperative is seeking to support
collaborative ecosystem processes projects that increase understanding of changing hydrologic process and regimes on species, habitats and ecosystems

 

National Park Service Land and Water Conservation Fund

This program is intended to create and maintain a nationwide legacy of high quality recreation areas and facilities and to stimulate non-federal investments in the protection and maintenance of recreation resources across the United States.

By April 30

Supports small, grassroots, activist organizations with provocative direct-action agendas, working on multi-pronged campaigns to preserve and protect our environment.

By May 11, 2015

This program funds projects that address the regional or national level priorities for state fish and wildlife agencies.

By May 15, 2015
California Wildlands Grassroots Funds
This fund supports conservationists advocating for the permanent protection of intact wildlands on both public and private lands in order to help preserve California’s wilderness and native biological diversity.

By June 1
JW & HM Goodman Family Foundation

The Foundation offers small grants – $5,000 – in support of science-based work to improve the Oregon and San Francisco Bay marine systems through protection, planning, and/or restoration.

By June 24, 2015
National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program
The primary goal of this program is the long-term conservation of coastal wetland ecosystems.  Grants must go through a state agency and applicants should coordinate with SFBJV Coordinator Beth Huning.

By July 7
North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) Standard Grant
2015 guidelines for these grants were posted on their website earlier this year.  Matching grants from non-federal funding sources are required at a 1:1 ratio and applicants need to apply with SFBJV Coordinator assistance.

Clif Bar Family Foundation Grants

These small grants (approx $8,000) support projects that “protect Earth’s beauty and bounty; increase opportunities for outdoor activity, reduce environmental health hazards and/or build stronger communities.  Applications received on the 15th of February, May, August and November 1.
