Committee Overview
The Resilient Shorelines Committee supports policies and partnerships that strengthen the Bay Area’s shorelines, infrastructure, and communities. Its work centers on local and regional planning to advance climate adaptation and resilient transportation along the waterfront.
Through BPC, committee members engage on the planning, funding, permitting, and implementation of shoreline projects across the region. The committee brings together public and private-sector perspectives to identify barriers, advance coordinated approaches, and support projects that protect shoreline assets while strengthening the Bay Area’s long-term resilience.

Committee Priorities
Committee priorities are shaped by BPC members and evolving climate adaptation, infrastructure, funding, and planning needs.
Advocate for funding and stronger regional collaboration to plan, finance, and implement climate adaptation and shoreline resilience projects across the Bay Area.
Support more transparent, coordinated, and efficient permitting approaches that help move critical shoreline resilience and adaptation projects from planning to implementation.
Support investments in water transit and waterfront infrastructure that improve mobility, access, and resilience around the Bay.
Advance collaborative approaches to sea level rise and shoreline adaptation by identifying project needs, implementation barriers, and opportunities to strengthen resilience across jurisdictions.
