Chevron Richmond Scholarships a Win

Thousands of Richmond students will be able to attend college thanks to Chevron Richmond’s $35 million pledge to fund college scholarships over the next 10 years. At a time when the cost of college increases each year, this commitment will provide extraordinary new possibilities for Richmond residents who attend the West Contra Costa Unified School District. The pledge, part of a $90 million Environmental and Community Investment Agreement, is one of the many community benefits of the Refinery Modernization Project, approved in July.

Fuel Your School Powers Classrooms

Public school teachers in Richmond and West County work hard to make learning come alive for their students. Chevron Richmond’s Fuel Your School program helps make their job easier by helping fund new supplies for teachers to engage their students. Since 2010, the program has contributed nearly $4 million to Alameda and Contra Costa County public schools through DonorsChoose.org, a website where teachers list their needs through project requests and donors can choose projects to support.
