ACWA eNews for October 19, 2016

The State Water Resources Control Board continues to report monthly conservation data under the modified emergency water conservation regulation adopted earlier this year. While the latest data show urban Californians are achieving significant levels of conservation, State Water Board staff has signaled interest in returning to state-mandated conservation targets in January 2017 if the drought persists and a steep decline is conservation is perceived.

The Water Education Foundation and the Delta Conservancy on Oct. 25 will co-sponsor a special free briefing –Drought and the Delta – to explore how the severe drought has impacted the Sacramento- San Joaquin Delta.

Speakers will address a variety of topics related to drought, including the Delta smelt, water quality and Delta farming.
