The Bay Area Air Quality Management District will host six public meetings — including one here in West County — in the next few weeks to get feedback from residents and share information about its 2016 Clean Air Plan and Regional Climate Protection Strategy (RCPS).
The plans will serve as a roadmap for the Air District’s efforts to reduce air pollution and protect public health and the global climate.

The Clean Air Plan update will include the Bay Area’s first comprehensive climate protection strategy, which will identify potential rules, control measures and strategies that the Air District can pursue to reduce greenhouse gases.
I hope you’ll join me on Thursday, February 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts in Richmond. The address is 339 11th Street (Just off of Macdonald Avenue).
This important effort aims to keep the Bay Area at the forefront of clean air policies in California and the nation.
