South Bay Salt Pond (SBSP) Project is developing plans for its second phase of restoration and public access projects.

The SBSP project has been busy developing plans for Phase 2 of the largest tidal wetland restoration project on the West Coast of North America!

Draft documents outlining Phase 2 of the Alviso/Ravenswood Environmental Impact statement will be available for download on their website in the next few weeks.  If you haven’t signed up already and want to be sure to know when those are ready for review, you can join their mailing list here.

A public hearing will be held in Mountain View on August 4th from 6-8 pm. Find out more on our events page.

New Report Released!

This latest report from Restore America’s Estuaries,

provides a national assessment of institutional barriers that are preventing broad use of living shorelines as an approach to managing our shorelines.  In the report, three main obstacles
are identified – 1) institutional inertia, 2) lack of a broader planning context, and 3) lack of an advocate –  along with clear strategies and a number of specific and actionable recommendations for decision and policy makers alike.   Find it here.
