Santa Cruz, CA – December 3, 2014

Santa Cruz, Ca.  (10/23/2014) – TradePort.org and the Monterey Bay International Trade Association (MBITA) have partnered with China Silicon Valley and Brand Monterey Bay (BMB) in association with the Bay Area Council (BAC) to produce the 11th annual Global California conference this year entitled ‘ California’s Super Region of Innovation’ to be held at the historical Coconut Grove at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on December 3rd.

The San Francisco Bay Area, Silicon Valley and the Monterey Bay comprise a region in California that leads the world with innovation in IT, CleanTech, BioTech, AgTech and MarineTech products, services and expertise. This conference will feature the leaders from both the public and private sectors from these various industry sectors to discuss and interact on the ‘secret sauce’ of why this region leads the world in innovation.

Special attention at this year’s conference will be given to the relationship between China, California and this super region. For years the public and private sectors have built trade and investment bridges between California and China. Today those bridges have morphedinto ‘green, innovation superhighways with a focus on sustainable technologies and services as well as investment, telemedicine, eco-tourism, and eCommerce.

“The innovation spirit and life style of California’s ‘Super Region of Innovation’ is spreading throughout the Chinese marketplace from Shandong to Shenzhen creating opportunities for economic growth, job creation and successful bilateral trade and investment between China and California with a focus on in the CleanTech sectors to address climate change”, states Victor Wang, President of China Silicon Valley.

“The region’s unique start up and investment culture is matched by its rare and effective partnership with higher education all taking place in one of the most beautiful environments in the world”, states Tony Livoti, President of MBITA/TradePort and main organizers for the event.

“China’s innovation centers located in the cities of Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Shanghai followed closely by the province of Shandong are driving trade and investment between California and China on the most active Innovation Super Highway in the global landscape with ground-breaking projects in Global eCommerce and solar roadways/rails”, says G Stearns of Stearns and More Capital and principle in Brand Monterey Bay.

This is the 11th annual Global California conference and has been held in different locations throughout the State over the last ten years.
