Community Giving Spotlight

We highlight four community partners who are making an impact in the areas of economic development, education, public safety and civic engagement thanks to the support of Chevron Richmond.  The Emerging Leaders Program helped improve academic outcomes for 1,600 local students, while the Gompers High School Youth Development Collaboration turned one of Richmond’s most challenged schools into a measurably safer learning environment.  The Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment provided business training to nearly 40 talented low-income women and Richmond’s hallmark Cinco de Mayo Festival celebrated yet another successful year, thanks in part to Chevron Richmond’s support.

Chevron Helps Students, Communities

Each year, Chevron Richmond awards Partnership Grants to organizations in Richmond and West County that improve educational opportunities or support economic development.  The program’s $5 million local investment has made a huge impact in the community, funding groundbreaking projects like the Family Sustainability Project in North Richmond, which works in nearby schools and in partnership with the roving Breathmobile® clinic to help children address and treat respiratory illnesses.  Check out the newsletter for more information on the Project and the other 2013 California Partnership Grant recipients.
