Tesoro’s Martinez Refinery produces motor fuels, including cleaner-burning California Air Resources Board (CARB) gasoline and CARB diesel fuel, as well as conventional gasoline, diesel fuel, heavy fuel oils, petroleum gas and petroleum coke. The refinery has been operating for more than 100 years.

Since 2008, Tesoro has invested more than $1 billion on regulatory, maintenance, turnaround and income improvement activities at the Martinez refinery. Most recently we underwent a seismic upgrade of our Avon Wharf which not only included seismic improvements but also a new control room, a wider roadway to allow emergency vehicles to access the wharf and more.
Captain John Schneider serves as a member of the Board for the Bay Planning Coalition and together, we work on issues that include dredging and maritime, water, infrastructure, regulatory compliance and more. The BPC is an important ally as we seek to protect our industrial economy and support the Bay Area’s vital waterways.
