Science and engineering consulting firm Integral Consulting Inc. (Integral) is expanding and formalizing its services to clients in the industrial and commercial sectors with the hiring of three leaders in the fields of quantitative decision analysis and advanced project management: Timothy J. Havranek, Principal; Leigh A. Hostetter, Senior Managing Scientist; and Jennifer Archuleta, Managing Scientist. All three are certified project management professionals (P.M.P.s) and specialize in using quantitative decision analysis, probabilistic modeling, and project controls tools to:

* Evaluate and manage risk
* Support complex business decisions
* Achieve process improvement and efficiency
* Facilitate portfolio, program, and project management.

A key feature of the new practice area is its application of management science, probabilistic methods, cost engineering, and powerful analytical tools in a structured process to support better decision-making.

“We welcome Tim, Leigh, and Jennifer to the Integral team,” said Bill Locke, P.E., Integral President. “They are top-notch business and environmental solutions consultants who bring to Integral a wealth of experience in advising industrial and commercial clients on the complex decisions and project management issues facing their businesses. We look forward to growing this practice area to meet the needs of clients, both in the U.S. and internationally.”

As part of the practice launch, Integral is opening a new office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which complements the firm’s existing seven offices in the Northeast, including offices in New York and New Jersey. The office address is 322 North Shore Drive, Building 1B, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA.

With 30 years of experience in the environmental remediation and oil and gas industries, Mr. Havranek has managed numerous large-scale environmental projects, working with multiple stakeholders to develop strategic and sustainable business liability and asset management solutions.  He has extensive experience in the application of multi-criteria decision analysis and probabilistic modeling for a wide range of environmental projects including sediment dredging, mine closures, remediation, restoration, decommissioning, and alternative energy projects.  An M.B.A. graduate of Carnegie Mellon, and author of the book Modern Project Management Techniques for the Environmental Remediation Industry, Tim was an early adopter of formalized project management methods earning his P.M.P. certification in 1992, within the group of the first 1,000 P.M.P.s. In 1993 he served as chairman of professional development for the Project Management Institute’s Pittsburgh Chapter, and from 1992 through 1994, he served as the chapter’s trainer in risk management for the project management professional exam review course. His project management processes have been used by clients to manage thousands of environmental projects.  Mr. Havranek will practice from Integral’s new Pittsburgh office.

Ms. Hostetter specializes in applying quantitative and probabilistic methods to improve decision-making and project planning/controls processes. With 14 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, she provides strong analytical skills and creative approaches to industrial, infrastructure, and environmental problems. She holds a B.A. in economics from Skidmore College and will practice from Integral’s New York City office.

Ms. Archuleta has 10 years of demonstrated leadership in project management and business services consulting. A cross-functional communicator, her core competencies include strategic planning, process improvement, change management, decision and risk analysis, and project controls. She earned a B.S. in natural sciences from the University of California, Davis, and will practice from Integral’s San Francisco office.
