Applications for the 2016 WODA Environmental Excellence Awards are due by 15 April 2016.
Three awards will be made in 2016
- One for a navigation dredging project,
- One for an environmental dredging project, and
- One for a sand and gravel dredging project.
Silver awards may be made for the runner-up in each category.
These Awards will be presented for projects and their team members that best meet the goals of WODA’s Environmental Commission:
Promote communication and understanding of environmental issues and stimulate new solutions associated with dredging and placement of dredged materials such that dredging projects, including navigation, environmental, and sand/gravel dredging, are accomplished in an efficient manner while meeting environmental goals.

This is the first time Environmental Excellence Awards will be presented by WODA. The overall process and criteria are similar to the annual Environmental Excellence Awards initiated by WEDA in 2011. These awards will be presented in June during the 21st World Dredging Congress & Exposition (WODCON XXI) in Miami, Florida, USA.
