PIANC e-Newsletter for August 2015

For many of us, the summer holidays have come to an end and it is time to get back to work! Indeed, PIANC is facing many interesting activities in the months to come. To start with on the South American continent, there is the PIANC-SMART Rivers Conference 2015, which will take place on September 7-11, 2015 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as the 1^stCongress of PIANC Colombia in Cartagena, Colombia on September 2-4, 2015. We hope many PIANC Delegates will be able to attend these interesting events. Moreover, the next PIANC ExCom and Council meetings will take place in Buenos Aires, right before the PIANC-SMART Rivers Conference.

Also on the calendar is the Coast and Ports Conference in Auckland, New Zealand on September 15-18, 2015, co-organised by PIANC Australia. You will find more information on this event in this newsletter.

In October, there will be a PIANC Session during the MTE Conference in Poland, as well as a PIANC Indonesia Seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia. We will keep you posted about these events in the next edition of ‘Sailing Ahead’.

As for ‘yours truly’, it is almost time to take a little step back, as I will devote my time in the coming months to my own little ‘successor’, who will be born in October! As from September 21, I will be out of the office until the end of January. I will leave most of my work in the capable hands of my colleagues An and Sabine! News feeds for the next edition of ‘Sailing Ahead’ can be sent to An, who will send you a reminder with all details in October! Publication of new Working Group reports will be postponed until February 2016.
