Brian has dedicated his career to strategically addressing technically and politically complex issues of resource allocation and the evolution of our communities, balancing the demands of the human and natural environments. Under Brian’s leadership our community development practice has integrated environmental and community planning, climate change adaptation and transportation services to better meet the growing needs of our clients. Brian brings more than 30 years of experience guiding clients through complex state and local planning and regulatory processes, and leading teams of environmental and planning professionals throughout the West. His commitment to technical excellence and innovation in environmental planning and permitting, and keen understanding of the environmental science, planning, and design industry around northern California make Brian a natural fit to lead ESA’s largest region composed of more than 180 professionals in four offices.
