May environment Our Commitment to the Environment
Operating safely and responsibly is the most important thing that we do at the Chevron Richmond Refinery. Nothing is more important to us than protecting our people, local citizens and the environment. We work with more than 30 federal, state and local regulatory agencies to ensure the refinery operates safely and complies with all environmental standards. Read more.

May air monitoring Monitoring the Air in Richmond
Air monitoring is one of the tools used to track emissions and help the public get a better picture of the air quality in Richmond. For the past two years, Argos Scientific has managed the community air monitoring system in collaboration with Chevron and the City of Richmond. Learn more about the program here.

May water 2 Conserving Water at Chevron

The Richmond Refinery is doing its part during the current water shortage by relying heavily on recycled water for our operations. Our recycling keeps millions of gallons of fresh water available for other uses by our community — enough water to supply the homes of 22,000 East Bay families on a daily basis. Read more.

Meet Our Employees

This month we are happy to introduce Gregory Dannel Reed, who works as an Environmental Field Coordinator and Volunteer Fire Brigade Member. Gregory serves as the liaison between Chevron’s operations team and the environmental team to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and that the refinery is operating safely.
