The Chevron Richmond Refinery is a unique facility, and we are aware of our special location and place in this community. We are continually working to improve our environmental performance, reduce emissions and waste and conserve natural resources. Read more.

 wetlands 2 Preserving and Restoring Ecosystems
Many of our neighbors might be surprised to know that the Richmond Refinery is home to many different species and acres of protected wetlands. The Richmond Water Enhancement Experimental Wetland, which is on 90 acres of former effluent treatment ponds, serves as a habitat for 103 species of bird. Read more

We have a team of experts at the Richmond Refinery that is dedicated to responding to questions from the community regarding refinery operations. This team works 24 hours a day, seven days a week to minimize any potential impact to our neighbors. We respond to all inquiries regarding unusual smells or noises that may be coming from the refinery. Read more.
