An amendment will be offered today from Rep. Hahn and Huizenga that increases the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund (HMTF) funding in Energy and Water Appropriations bill to WRRDA target level – $1.165 billion.  (see PDF of amendment here).

Representatives Hahn and Huizenga are going to offer the attached amendment to the House FY15 Energy & Water Appropriations bill this afternoon and request a recorded vote, which could occur after 5:00 pm tonight. The amendment would take $57.6M from the Department of Energy’s nuclear energy acquisition, construction, and expansion account and add it to the Army Corps of Engineers civil works operations and maintenance account. This is the amount of funding by which the E&W Approps bill is below the WRRDA HMTF spending target for FY15.  The House FY15 E&W bill would add $193M to the President’s $915M request for harbor maintenance for a total of $1,108M.  The WRRDA target for FY15 is $1,165.6M.  The amendment is a test of whether the House supports actually funding harbor maintenance at the WRDA authorized level.

If you would like to support this amendment,  quickly reach out to your organizations’ members and ask them to request their Members of Congress vote to support the Hahn/Huizenga amendment.  The staff contacts are Justin Vogt (justin.vogt@mail.house.gov<mailto:justin.vogt@mail.house.gov>) for Rep.
