Majority Leader Toni Atkins who represents the 78th District in the California State Assembly will deliver the Luncheon Keynote Address for the 2014 Symposium.

Room 202 Majority Leader Toni Atkins was elected to the State Assembly in 2010 and represents the 78th Assembly District, which includes coastal San Diego from Imperial Beach, along the Mexican border, north to Solana Beach. She previously served as a member of the San Diego City Council from 2000 to 2008 and as Acting Mayor in 2005. Assemblymember Atkins is the Assembly Majority Floor Leader and a member of the Housing and Community Development, Health, Veterans, Agriculture, and Legislative Audit Committees. She chairs the Select Committee on Homelessness and the Redevelopment Working Group. She also serves on the Select Committees on Ports, Coastal Protection, and Sea Level Rise and the California Economy as well as the state Ocean Protection Council.
