WRRDA and the House of Representatives – IMPORTANT

The House has decided to cancel business for this Thursday so that members can attend the funeral of Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla), who died last Friday.  This will result in all floor debate on WRRDA to be Wednesday only.

There is substantial  opposition to the environmental streamlining provisions currently in the bill, and this may result in prolonged debate on the floor.  We don’t know the extent of how many amendments will be debated, nor how long this process will take.  However, it remains very important that our Members of Congress to support passage of this WRRDA.

In case you have a Member who is not sure, this excellent statement in the Hill publication, from Greg DiLoreto, the 2013 President of the American Society of Civil Engineers, should help.
