Volunteers Sought for New CASA Science

and Research Workgroup

CASA is pleased to announce the formation of a Science and Research Workgroup. The workgroup is an outcome of CASA’s Strategic Plan and is intended to help achieve one of the association’s overarching strategic goals-to develop key partnerships that will further the ability of CASA to achieve its vision and accomplish its mission. The workgroup will be chaired by Don Gray (East Bay Municipal Utility District). The workgroup will:

  • Identify key research needs as seen by CASA members
  • Match those need with researchers who can accomplish the work
  • Seek funding for priority research projects
  • Track and communicate key research in areas of interest to CASA members

The Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) has offered its assistance and will be a key partner. Like the Energy Workgroup, the Science and Research Workgroup will operate under the oversight of the Utility Leadership Committee and will convene quarterly by conference call with the possibility of an annual in-person meeting. CASA is seeking volunteers with an interest or expertise in furthering California-specific research to participate on the workgroup. If you are interested in joining the workgroup, please contact CASA’s Director of Renewable Resource Programs Greg Kester. If your agency has already identified research needs, please communicate them to Greg or Don.
