From the September 19, 2013 BCDC Meeting: Item #10

Briefing on San Francisco Waterfront Working Group Planning Process
On March 1, 2012, the Commission approved a resolution amending the San Francisco Waterfront Special Area Plan to relocate the City and County of San Francisco’s primary cruise ship terminal to Pier 27 and revise the public benefits required by the plan. The amendment required that several planning processes be developed to identify new locations for public benefits, including open water basins, public plazas and shed removal. In response, the Port of San Francisco and BCDC staff developed the BCDC-Port Working Group to assist in identifying opportunities for public benefits along the waterfront. This briefing will provide the Commission with an update of the working group’s progress to date.
