California Energy Commission Delays Create New Deadlines for Implementation of Nonresidential Building Energy Disclosure Regulations On August 14, 2013, the California Energy Commission announced for the second time this summer that implementation of California’s new energy use disclosure regulations has been delayed. These delays affect the regulation’s original compliance deadlines, which we explained in our update dated May 9, 2013.
The first delay in June 2013 was based on the temporary unavailability of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s online data system, the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, for tracking energy usage. The second delay, announced earlier this week, is similarly based on technical problems with this online data system.
