***BAY AREA TRAVEL ALERT***

 

Beginning Wednesday, August 28 at 8:00 pm, through Tuesday, September 3 at 5:00 am, the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge (SFOBB) will be closed to traffic in both directions to complete the new East Span portion of the bridge.  During the closure, the San Mateo-Hayward, Dumbarton, Richmond-San Rafael and Golden Gate bridges are scheduled to be open.

 

Traffic in the Bay Area and East Bay will be impacted throughout the closure, so the use of other routes or alternative means of travel, such as mass transit, is recommended.  The bridge will re-open in time for the post-holiday commute.

 

There will be an increase in BART service (24-hour service) and ferry service to accommodate travel needs during the closure period.  For more information, visit any of the following Web links:
