Today we’ve released the fifteenth case study in our series profiling examples of misuses of CEQA: Booker T. Washington Community Service Center, San Francisco. In this case, a NIMBY group used CEQA in an attempt to stop the expansion of a community center and transit-oriented affordable housing project for underserved youth. The litigation drove up the costs significantly and delayed the project for 6 years- depriving the community of these vital services for youth in need.
