Ballast Water Management FAQ’s updated by US Coast Guard

The Coast Guard has updated its Frequently Asked Questions, Volume I, for Ballast Water Management, with several updates and new questions since the last edition of 17 August 2012.

Of special note, Question #1 is updated to clarify how Ballast Water Management (BWM) requirements apply to vessels that enter the Great Lakes after operating in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone and Canadian equivalent.
