Chairman Gibbs to Hold Panel’s First Hearing on Developing Bill for Nation’s Ports, Waterways, & Water Resources

Washington, DC – Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment Chairman Bob Gibbs (R-OH) will convene the panel’s first hearing on developing a Water Resources Development Act (WRDA).  One of the Committee’s top priorities this Congress, WRDA legislation focuses on developing, maintaining, and supporting the Nation’s port and waterway infrastructure, as well as addressing targeted flood protection and environmental restoration needs.

The hearing, entitled “The Foundations for a New Water Resources Development Act,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.

Following previous listening sessions and bipartisan roundtables with water resources stakeholders, Wednesday’s hearing continues the Committee’s efforts to gather input in preparation for developing a responsible WRDA.
