SAVE THE DATE: San Francisco Leadership Roundtable meeting for Plan Bay Area, Friday September 14, 1-3pm

The San Francisco County Transportation Authority is convening a San Francisco Leadership Roundtable for the Plan Bay Area (Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy) process on Friday, September 14, from 1 to 3 pm at Authority offices, 1455 Market Street, 22nd Floor. The purpose of the meeting is to convene San Francisco officials who sit on the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) or Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and San Francisco Department Directors to discuss implementation of Plan Bay Area in San Francisco with ABAG and MTC staff. The meeting is open to the public. RSVPs to liz@sfcta.org are appreciated, but not required.

We expect the agenda to include the following. A final agenda will be distributed closer to the email date.

1. Update on Plan Bay Area Preferred Scenario and Draft Environmental Impact Report alternatives. The Plan Bay Area Preferred Scenario was adopted in May 2012 by MTC/ABAG and will undergo environmental review alongside several alternatives. We will recap the major implications of these actions for San Francisco.

2. San Francisco’s Priority Development Area Growth and Investment Strategy Development. One of the requirements of the new One Bay Area Block Grant (OBAG) program is that the Authority, as San Francisco’s Congestion Management Agency, will be responsible for development of a Priority Development Area (PDA) Growth and Investment Strategy that charts a course for supporting development within San Francisco’s PDAs with transportation investment and supportive housing policies. The timing of this strategy dovetails with the Authority’s update to the San Francisco Transportation Plan, which will guide transportation investment in the next 25+ years. We’ll seek input from the group on development of this strategy.
