Our first workshop in the Jobs, They Help All of Us! WORKSHOP SERIES 2011 took place on July 21 at the PG&E headquarters in San Francisco.

The recent tragedy in Japan has heightened local awareness—yet again—of the possibility of earthquake,  tsunami,  or other natural disasters in California. It has been a sobering reminder of our vulnerability. Are the people of California and the economy of our State prepared to endure the consequences of a major earthquake or tsunami? What are the impacts to rebuilding the economy, the infrastructure, business operations? What might be the loss of taxable income and loss of life? How have we used funds from previous bond and tax measures to strengthen our infrastructure; what if we do not invest in our infrastructure? What can the public and private sectors do to facilitate recovery BEFORE disaster strikes?
