2018 Election: BPC Ballot Measure Outcomes

  • PROPOSITION 3: FAILED – 51.78% Voted No
    BPC Position: Yes
Proposition 3, the Water Supply and Water Quality Act of 2018, would have invested over $8 billion in California water infrastructure. While it failed statewide, it was successful in every Bay Area county other than Marin and Solano.
  • PROPOSITION 6: FAILED – 56.44% Voted No
    BPC Position: No
Proposition 6 would have “repeal[ed] the gas and diesel tax increases and vehicle fees that were enacted in 2017 and require voter approval for fuel tax and vehicle fee increases in the future.” An overwhelming concern was the impact it would have had on the funding for thousands of current and planned road and other infrastructure projects throughout the state. It failed in every Bay Area county.
  • MEASURE A (San Francisco): PASSED – 82.7% Voted Yes
    BPC Position: Yes
Measure A, the San Francisco Seawall Earthquake Safety Bond, will fund urgently needed repairs to strengthen our Seawall in order to protect our historic waterfront, BART and Muni tunnels, main roads, utility and water systems from flooding, earthquakes, and natural disasters.
