California Golden Bears Fly OAK as its Airport of Choice and Official Sponsor

Oakland, CA – (September 21, 2018):  Officials at Oakland International Airport (OAK) announced today that the Airport will continue as the official sponsor of Cal Athletics. The California Golden Bears Athletics program hosts hundreds of thousands of fans each year at its home in Berkeley. The agreement extends through June 30, 2022. OAK has been the Official airport of Cal Athletics since an original agreement began in 2012.
The new agreement includes multi-media advertising during the Cal Football season, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, and Baseball season. It also means designation of OAK as the “Official Airport of Cal Athletics,” and reserved parking for Cal coaches and staff in designated Airport parking facilities.
Bryant L. Francis, Port of Oakland Director of Aviation, says, “We are pleased to announce OAK’s continued partnership with UC Berkeley as the Official Sponsor of Cal Athletics. Oakland International Airport is the closest airport for UC Berkeley students, families, faculty, and fans, and we are proud to serve as a Global air transportation portal to one of the region’s most cherished institutions.”
The Golden Bears football team is undefeated going into its fourth game of the season on Saturday, home at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley against Oregon. On October 6, they will fly OAK to Tucson to play Arizona.
