Hawaiian Airlines Celebrates 10 Years at Oakland International Airport
Airline’s New CEO, Peter Ingram, in Oakland to Commemorate Milestone

Oakland, CA (April 12, 2018) – Oakland International Airport (OAK) welcomes new Hawaiian Airlines CEO, Peter Ingram, today as the Airport and Airline celebrate ten years of partnership. Hawaiian inaugurated service between Oakland and Honolulu on May 1, 2008.

Mr. Ingram is in Oakland to celebrate the milestone, and to highlight the airline’s newest addition to its fleet, the Airbus 321neo. Hawaiian put this new aircraft type into revenue service in January 2018 on its Oakland-Kahului, Maui route.  In true aloha spirit, today’s celebration features live Hawaiian-themed performances, music, and refreshments.

“Hawaiian has been a tremendous partner at OAK for the past ten years, and we are delighted to share in the celebration of this significant milestone,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation Bryant L. Francis. “We’re proud to have served as the launch Mainland U.S. airport for Hawaiian’s new A321neo aircraft, and look forward to many more years of this truly successful partnership.”

“We look forward to sharing our Hawaiian hospitality with an even greater number of Oakland travelers in the next decade and beyond as we introduce more flights to our islands, including non-stop service to Kauai beginning this summer,” said Peter Ingram, President and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines.

Hawaiian’s growth at OAK led to nonstop service to each of the four main Hawaiian islands by 2014. The airline has carried more than 1.5 million passengers on over 6,000 departures from OAK.
