The CASA/WateReuse California joint Public Policy Forum is right around the corner and our
program is shaping up nicely. Assembly Member Bill Quirk is confirmed as one of our featured speakers. Before his election to the legislature, Assembly Member Quirk worked as a climate change scientist at NASA, and at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab. As the newly appointed Chair of the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee, Assembly Member Quirk leads the development of state policies relating to toxic substances and hazardous materials, drinking water regulation, and pesticides. Many of the bills CASA and WateReuse work on each year are heard in the Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee.
This year Assembly Member Quirk is the author of AB 574, sponsored by WateReuse California and the California Coastkeeper Alliance, which seeks to advance water recycling policy in California. We expect to hear more details about this important legislation and other insightful comments during the featured address from Assembly Member Quirk.

Participants in the one day event will spend the morning hearing presentations from featured speakers and panels, and will have the opportunity to go to the State Capitol in the afternoon for pre-arranged visits with their local legislators.
