An energy provider for millions of Californians, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) starts with the simple belief that we are better together. Throughout the year, PG&E and its employees strengthen the communities where they live and work – providing educational opportunities, protecting and conserving the environment and supporting local economic vitality.
In 2016, PG&E employees and retirees raised nearly $8.4 million dollars for schools and nonprofits during its annual Campaign for the Community. Employees also volunteered nearly 97,000 hours, breaking the company’s previous record.

With a focus on education, the company last year awarded 10 students with a $100,000 scholarship (up to $20,000 per year for five years), and 90 students with a one-time $2,000 scholarship. Since its inception, PG&E’s Better Together STEM Scholarships have committed four million dollars in scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 to students throughout Northern and Central California.

A total of 19 schools were selected to participate in the PG&E Solar Suitcase program. Under the program, students built portable solar units, participated in local sustainability projects and hand delivered the solar suitcases to stuents in Kenya.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a subsidiary of PG&E Corporation (NYSE:PCG), is one of the largest combined natural gas and electric energy companies in the United States. Based in San Francsico, with more than 20,000 employees, the company delivers some of the nation’s cleanest energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California.
