The Port of San Francisco is seeking to fill two (2) Project Manager positions for a set of unique upcoming projects. These positions are excluded by the Charter from competitive civil service examination process (no examination required). The successful candidates shall serve at the discretion of the appointing officer with appointment duration of up to three (3) years.

Rehabilitation of the Port’s Historic Seawall Project

The Port of San Francisco is currently undertaking a major rehabilitation program for the seismic strengthening of the Port’s historic seawall. The Port’s seawall is more than 100 years old and is highly vulnerable to a moderate to major seismic event and to future sea level rise. There is a 67% chance of a major seismic event happening within next 30 years. The land behind the seawall supports the Embarcadero Promenade and a vast network of infrastructure and utilities owned by various agencies such BART, MUNI, SFPUC and SFPW. Read more.

Pier 70 and Seawall Lot 337 Developments Project

The Port of San Francisco is currently undertaking a major development program through a public-private partnership to transform and revitalize the City’s historic Pier 70 area and Seawall Lot 337 parcel, adjacent to AT&T Ballpark. The project scope consists of building the horizontal infrastructure (streets, sidewalks, utilities etc.); the rehabilitation of historic buildings and also building mixed-use facilities (offices, retail spaces and residential complexes). The Port also plans to build a Ferry Landing in Mission Bay to address that transportation congestion that will arise out of these developments and also various other developments such as the Warriors Arena Project.
