Save San Francisco’s Great Seawall

The City of San Francisco has applied for financial expertise to support a financing plan for the Seawall Seismic Strengthening project and we need you to weigh in. The award is dependent on public comments of support!

One of the City’s biggest challenges is repairing the Great Seawall to reduce seismic vulnerability and provide a strong and adaptable foundation to address sea level rise. This is a multi-generational, multi-billion-dollar project that the City will lead. Construction of the Seawall began in 1878, and it stretches from Aquatic Park in the North, to AT&T Park in the South. The Seawall has supported the Bay Area’s growth for over 100 years and protects the densely developed downtown and critical utility and transportation infrastructure. The Seawall needs a major overhaul to serve the next 100 years. This critical piece of City infrastructure is largely unseen.

Votes are due Friday, February 26th!
