Save the Date: Next Municipal and Domestic Supply (MUN) Evaluation Stakeholder Meeting on September 3, 2015

State Water Resources Control Board This is a message from the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley (5).

This pertains to the next “Evaluation of the Municipal and Domestic Supply (MUN) Beneficial Use in Ag Dominated Surface Waters” stakeholder meeting  – please mark your calendars for Thursday September 3, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Rancho Cordova. This meeting will also be available via webcast, and an agenda with a weblink and other meeting materials will be sent out by mid-August.

Thank you to all of you who attended and/or made comments at the Central Valley Water Board meeting today for the information item on the proposed LIMITED-MUN beneficial use.  There will be a copy of the presentation on the RWQCB website next week. There are a few discussion items that came out of today’s meeting that we would like to follow-up on with stakeholders. In order to ensure that we have enough time, we have decided to hold two half-day stakeholder meetings in September.

The September 3rd meeting will focus on the following:

1)      Fine-tune the LIMITED-MUN definition and water quality objective and discuss antidegradation and implementation issues

2)      Review the “Controlled Recirculating System” water body category and the requirements for an Operation Plan

An additional meeting will take place later in September (date pending) and it will focus primarily on Monitoring and Surveillance issues. I will send out another save-the-date email when that meeting is scheduled.
