| Integral Consulting Inc. is pleased to announce that Steve Brauner, Ph.D., P.E., has joined its engineering and remediation group as a senior managing engineer. Dr. Brauner brings more than 14 years of experience in project management, site investigation, and the identification and implementation of creative solutions to environmental challenges. He offers specialized expertise in design and implementation of cost-effective approaches for remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater.

Dr. Brauner has managed multidisciplinary technical teams at multiple sites and has led regulatory negotiations under CERCLA, RCRA, and state jurisdiction to achieve complete or partial shutdown of remediation systems that were no longer effective. He has designed and implemented innovative remedial designs that significantly improved the performance of existing remedies by optimizing remedial systems and/or directly reducing contaminant mass in source areas. Dr. Brauner has used his extensive experience with dynamic work plans to identify critical data gaps and expedite the collection of supplemental pre-design investigation data to ensure that the implemented remedies were optimized for performance and cost. The end result of these efforts was a reduction in life-cycle costs and environmental liability for his clients. His experience also includes litigation support and water supply projects.
Dr. Brauner holds a B.S. in civil engineering from Lehigh University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a professional engineer in the states of Colorado, Tennessee, and Kansas, and is a member of the National Ground Water Association.
